Birthdays are milestones, they mark our steps on this journey we call life. Everyday is a blessing, birthdays even more so! As you live out your life, appreciate the gifts each day brings, fresh air, sunshine, the ability to see, touch and feel. And more importantly, the ability to love and be loved. Yesterday is gone, that is why it's called the past. Tomorrow is not promised, but today is a gift. That is why it's called the present. Be in the present and enjoy the gift of today! Do I sound mushy and sentimental? You, Bet! because today.....

Just for today, allow me to rise early and bend my knees in prayer. Just for today grant me the grace and mercy I need for today. Just for today, let me look up and not down. Just for today, allow me to stand in the sunshine and feel it's warmth on my face. Just for today help me to recognize that I am powerless to keep myself. Just for today, help me to hold on to your hand and allow you to hold me in the palm of yours. Just for today, bring that one, that needs to know you and allow them to see you in me. Just for today, less of me, more of you!
