It's Not About Me
The other day my aunt Ramona gave a book titled, "Where Will You Be In 5 Years?" It is a small, yet powerful book that led me on a journey to my best future. In order to go forward, the book asks you to think backward first. I have to admit that I had a very difficult time with this. I have had so many painful things happen in my past that the last thing I wanted was to look back, but once I did, I didn't really see all of the bad things. What I saw, with great clarity, was all of the deliverance that God had bestowed upon me. For the first time I recognized how truly blessed my life is and how all of the things that had happened had made me the person that I am today. I now know that it really isn't about me at all, but it's about the grace that God has given me and the faith that he has placed in me. You see, God delivered me in order that I can help someone else, someone like me. Someone else that needs to know just how good He really is. Are you that someone?

Step Back and Regroup
Today I feel like I need to step back and regroup. I really wish I could just for a moment stop the clocks and stop all of the activity around me. I can't seem to get on steady ground because I can't stop. There is so much work to be done and so little time to get it all done. Right now, Just for five minutes, I will do just that, stop, close my eyes, quiet my mind and breath.

Yes, This is Christmas
Christmas Day is almost here and I am grateful that I have made it this far. I continue to give and try to do right by everybody, but I often wonder if there is anybody out there consciously trying to do right by me. I feel like I've been cheated out of the life that I was supposed to have, but blessed nonetheless. I am grateful that God, in his infinite wisdom, knew that I would be in this place and had already prepared the way for me and even though the way seems dark at times, I can rest assured that He has my back, and my front and both of my sides. I continue to pray for wisdom, peace and the strength to endure until the end, when we will all be better for the trials.

Thanksgiving Eve
It was thanksgiving eve and all through the house, everyone was stirring, including the mouse. the house was all filled with the scents of the meal and the thoughts were all centered around the stomaches to fill. A little taste here and a little sip there, had to make sure that the flavor was fair.
The cider was boiling and the pies were baking, the wind was blowing and the trees were shaking. Family had come from near and from far, finally at home, and no longer in the car. Thanksgiving day was almost here and there's no better time for friends and family dear.
We sit and we laugh, we sit and we share. We reminisce about those no longer there. Tomorrow we'll gather, count our blessings and give thanks and pray for those less fortunate or that lack. God has been good to us, let's find a way to give back. Get on the phone and call someone, find that one alone or with no home. One more place at the table, because you are able.Share what you have and more blessings abound, the more you give away the more to be found.
Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

Thanks - Giving
Thanks - An acknowledgement of of a favor, gift etc. Gratitude.
Giving - making a present of. devoting to. placing in the hands of. bestowing. granting.
Have you ever stopped to think what thanksgiving really means? No, not the turkey, dressing and cranberry thanksgiving, but the thanksgiving that begins in your heart and moves out toward others. The thanksgiving that makes you feel warm all over, the thanksgiving that makes your heart swell and tears spring to your eyes, the thanksgiving that helps you remember loved ones long gone? Why not do that now? Yes, right now! Stop and think about it!
Didn't that feel good? Wouldn't you like to feel that way all the time? Well you can, you know.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Spending Time with God
I finally got this exercize thing to sink in, I am exercising every day and I feel better physically than I have in a very long time. This morning though, I had a thought, I wake up at 5:00 every morning and I exercise for almost an hour. That has made an amazing difference in how I feel. I wonder how much better off I would be If I also added an hour of prayer everyday to the regime. I used to pray in the mornings before, but getting up at 4:00 does not sound very appealing, but I believe God will help me. I'll try getting up at 4:30 tomorrow and see how it goes. I'll let you know.

Is it possible to be totally elated and totally dismayed at the same time? The election results are in and I am so very proud of my country right now. We made the best choice, not based on race, religion or fear, but based on what is best for our country. I am also very saddened for those who are so closed minded that they cannot rejoice and be glad. I pray that we all realize that unless we get behind President-Elect Obama and support him with all of our hearts, he will fail and if he fails, just like with Presiodent Bush, we all fail ( look at our present economy).
